Painted Harvest

Here is a card that I have done with the Painted Harvest Stamp set.  While they are sunflowers, they remind me of fall.  I used Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral for my flower and my favorite Stampin Up green, Old Olive.  With a touch of Rich Razzleberry thrown in for a bit of contrast.  It sure makes the card pop!

Stampin Up Holiday Catalog

This card was made with the Ready For Christmas Bundle.
I stamped the pieces out in Black Archival ink and then used the Stampin Up Watercolor pencils for my coloring.
This was a "Case" from the catalog, which stands for
Copy and Share Everything!
So if you have a stamp set and don't really know where to start, start with the catalog!  Stampin Up always has Great ideas!!

Right Now we are in the middle of Sale-A-Bration for Stampin Up.  For Every $50 that you spend, you get a free item!  This card is made with the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper.  This is one of the free items that you can get with for an order of $50!  I used the Watercolor pencils to make this card.  I used the Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive pencils.  After applying to the outside lines, I used a Stampin Up Blender Pen to move the color to the center.  I added a bit more color where needed by putting the blender pen to the end of my watercolor pencil and getting a bit more color from it.  The Bees are from the Dragonfly Dreams framelits.  They were cut out in black and I mounted them on Crushed Curry and cut out around the edges.  All in All, this is one of my favorite cards!

                               Father's Day

Last week I made a card for my Father-in-law for Father's Day.  Since he lives in New Hampshire I had to make it ahead so he could get it in time.  I just hope he did!  Here is a picture of the card I made him:

This stamp set is done from Stampin Up Country Livin' stamp set.  I LOVE to watercolor so this is the perfect stamp set for me as there is many ways to make this yours!  While my father-in-law might not have had a truck like this, I am sure that he had seen a few in his life time.

So then yesterday I was in my craft room trying to figure out what to do for my husband, then it hit me, use the same stamp set but a different stamp!  So this is what I came up with:

This just reminds me of the pair of boots that he got over 23 years ago for his sister's wedding!  And yes, he still has them today and wears them when he needs to dress up a bit in the winter time!

For this stamp I also water colored it with brown.  Then it looked a bit plain still so I cut out two circles and masked my paper and colored in around the mask.  I used two colors of yellow, So Saffron and Crushed Curry.  Then I added the Happy Father's Day on there.  That could have been tricky as I might have miss stamped, but if I did, I would have stamped it on another piece of paper and then taped it over as if I had wanted to make it that way!  After that, I cut it down and found some old DSP (Designer Series Paper) to put behind it and then the Dapper Denim for the card.  I do hope that he likes it!

That is it for now.  If you see something that you like and need more information, please just ask!

Today is a new day!

I started this blog a long time ago, I did one post and then didn't do any more.  Today is the day that I start over again.....and try to keep on track!

I am a Stampin Up demonstator and have a bunch of wonderful people that are all in a facebook community.  They are wonderfully creative and I learn a lot from them.  The card posted today is one that I made for a challenge.  Once a week I do this challenge.  This week is a color challenge and next week will be a sketch challenge.  It gets me to try to think outside the box and not do what I would normally do.

Here is the color's for the challenge this week:

For the Sahara Sand I did a tone on tone which works for my background.  The strip in the middle is on Very Vanilla where I stamped in the Mint Macaron.  The Night of Navy is behind the strip and the Happy Birthday.  The stamp set that I used is Grateful Bunch.  It is a favorite of mine since it has a punch for the three smaller flowers that are on the strip.

This is all the I have for today.  I hope that you enjoy the card!

New Day, New Blog

This will be interesting as I have never done a blog.  Will anyone see this or will it be me just posting to remember stuff in my life?  We will see!!

I am interested in crafting, I'm a Stampin Up demonstrator so cards are my main focus at this time.  But I do many different crafts.  I also LOVE to cook, and bake.  As I type this, I can smell the brownies in the oven for my daughter.

I'm married and we have two children.  Our son, Michael, attends Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville working on his masters in Statistics.  Our daughter, Lindsey, attends the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.  Which is the same place that our son graduated from last May.

Lindsey has been home for the week on break so I have been busy with cooking dinner each night for her.  It is always nice to have her come home and tell me what she wants to eat.  While I do love to cook, thinking of what to make is a struggle each day.  Since it is usually just my husband David and I most of the time, dinner is not always elaborate, but always good!  I also should mention our baby...well, dog.  His name is Tristan.  He is a rescue dog.  We got him from a young man that was going off to college, the same one my son attends.  He is a Bichon Poodle mix and is the cutest little guy.  He is spoiled rotten....as most pet owners do to their pets!!

As I stated, I am a Stampin Up demonstrator and I like to take part in a challenge each week.  This week it was a design challenge.  Here is the card I came up with.  I am sure to post soon...so stay tuned!!
